Lost and (Not) Found

Have you ever found money in your sofa, or on the floor of your car? If you are like me it is usually pocket change. If I am lucky it might add up to enough to buy a McLatte.

But we are talking about serious money.

I lost a money clip one time with maybe $30 in it. 

On the other hand, I have found coins and even a few bills in the parking lot of a store. The most I have found is $20 so I guess it evens out.

But you have probably never lost $3.7 billion.

The Obama administration hasn’t kept track of the $3.7 billion it spent last year on Obamacare and other federal health programs’ implementation, according to a federal audit.

How do you lose track of $3.7 billion dollars? 

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the agency charged with implementing the health-care law, spent a boatload of money on building and advertising Obamacare exchanges, but it doesn’t have data to show what money it spent on what efforts — or what parts of it were effective.

“CMS’s processes are inconsistent with certain federal accounting and internal control standards,” the General Accountability Office concluded in an audit released Monday evening.

Boatload?

That's putting it mildly.

Where did the money go?

Asking them is like asking Bart Simpson.

Outrageous doesn't even begin to describe the situation.

Even worse, no one seems to care.

What difference, at this point, does it make?
