What do trolley cars and birth control have in common?
Dr Jaan Sidorov, one of my favorite med-bloggers due primarily to his uncanny ability to cut through the chaff, has penned a remarkable post laying out the case of the Little Sisters of the Poor and their case against the ObamaTaxbirth control convenience item mandate. It is by far the most concise post I've seen on the topic, and lays out the case, the issues, and the implications in the context of the Trolley Car thought experiment:
"There is a runaway trolley barreling down the railway tracks. Ahead, on the tracks, there are five people tied up and unable to move. The trolley is headed straight for them."
